Bodegas Tridente (Castiila y Leon, Spain)
Winemaker – Frank Gonzales
Bodegas Tridente as an exciting new project under the GFE banner, making wines from old vine
Tempranillo in the Spanish region of Castilla y Leon.
Referred to as ‘Tinta de Toro’ in the region, the wines are full bodied and rich, stylistically close to the
famed Ribera wines. One look at the ravaged bush vines and you know that you are in for something
special with the Tridente wines!
“In the south eastern province of Zamora, we have magnificent Tempranillo vineyards planted in sandy,
deep and very poor soils, with their grapes we produce this wine to taste the potential, elegance and
robustness of the incredible soils where the vines are firmly anchored, showing flashes of bright flavours
that thrill our senses.” – Frank Gonzales
Tridente 2010 – “This thick red shows an oaky frame of cola, toast and ginger notes, with a core of ripe blackberry and plum fruit that leans towards the jammy side. Muscular tannins keep this focused, and there’s just enough acidity to stay lively.”
